Love this song...says more than simple words can say...
Right from the start
You were a thief
You stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them
Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh
Things you never say to me, oh, oh
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our love
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I'm sorry I don't understand
Where all of this is coming from
I thought that we were fine
(Oh, we had everything)
Your head is running wild again
My dear we still have everythin'
And it's all in your mind
(Yeah but this is happenin')
You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, oh
You used to lie so close to me, oh, oh
There's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love
Oh, our love, our love
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I never stopped
You're still written in the scars on my heart
You're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
Oh, tear ducts and rust
I'll fix it for us
We're collecting dust
But our love's enough
You're holding it in
You're pouring a drink
No nothing is as bad as it seems
We'll come clean
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
That we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

A day late and dollar short on the Blog challenge
Can
you have a dominant personality and still be submissive? How does
someone with an independent, in-control attitude learn to submit and
serve?
What challenges does a submissive with this personality type have as far as submission, relationships and seeking a Dominant?
This
was a blog challenge by The Subguide a week or so ago. I didn’t have
time to write on it at the time the challenge took place but it’s been
rattling around in my head since. The first thing that came to mind when
I read it was a quote that I read a long time ago but still resonates
with me today.
"It's
hard for an educated woman to turn her head off. That's part of the joy
of being a submissive. None of the decisions are yours. When you can't
refuse anything and can't even move, those voices in your head go
silent. All you can do, and all you are permitted to do, is feel."
— Cherise Sinclair
I
am one of those submissives. To the outside world, my family for the
most part, most of my friends...they’ve all said time and again I am
dominant personality. I am and always have been very independent. I am a
virgo...we are controlling by nature. We virgos tend to have OCD
tendencies which makes us controlling in a lot of ways.
At
work, I am a leader. I head up my own team of people. I have the
ultimate say and make the final decisions that affect not just me, but
those under me. Honestly, it is not something that I’ve had to find
within myself. It actually comes extremely easy. There I have control of
my own little part of the world. I dominant my job in all aspects. I am
a competitive person and perfectionist down to the core. I strive to
not just succeed but to surpass that, to set the bar high.
At
home, it really is no different in many ways. I control my own space. I
am the bread winner. I control how things are ran. Throw in a child and
it’s someone else that I have to control, guide, lead...however you
want to put it. Being a single mother, I have to be a shining example to
the independence and dominance of a woman.
If
you look at typical characteristics of a “Dominant Person” - Confident,
outgoing, does not show weakness, does not let others seem them cry,
has a confident body posture, can take control of any situation, can
gain the attention in a room, makes decisions easily, deals with stress
easier than others...I would say by nature, I can fit the bill for most
of those and that is only naming a very small few traits.
But
yet, I will be the first to tell you...I am a submissive at heart.
There are many of those traits that a submissive should strive to have.
As a submissive, I have to be strong. I need to be confident not only in
attitude but in posture (I’ve been reprimanded for not sitting or
standing properly lol). In the home, I have to be somewhat controlling
when it comes to the house work...it needs to “pass inspection.” I also
need to have self control and the ability to lead myself. A dominant
cannot ideally be with me 24/7 so I have to be entrusted to make
responsible decisions when it comes to me...his “property”
In
reality, submission comes very easy. Like the quote, there is nothing
that compares to coming home at the end of the day and being able to
ditch the stress by giving up the control, the decision making to a
dominant. It is when my head finally goes quiet and all is right in the
world. It took me a good while to see the truth in that. It can be a
challenge when you’ve held the reigns for too long. And yes, it can make
a huge impact when finding a Dominant. I know for me personally, it has
to be a very strong willed man. One with a firm hand and often tight
grip but can lead with the utmost of compassion. You can laugh...I
know...”Isn’t that what a dominant should be anyways?” The truth is,
just like there are different submissives, there are different types of
dominants. Some want ultimate control in which the sub has no freedom,
some can be a little on the lackadaisical side and give a little too
much freedom. Me, I know I need someone in the middle. Someone who can
appreciate the strives I’ve made to get where I am at but yet wants the
challenge of keeping me in my place when need be.
